Darjeeling: The Queen of the Hills

1. Tiger Hill (The Sunrise Point)

​The most iconic spot in Darjeeling. Tourists wake up at 3:30 AM to catch the sun rising over Mt. Kanchenjunga. On a very clear day, even Mt. Everest is visible in the distance.

​2. Batasia Loop & War Memorial

​A lush green railway loop where the Toy Train makes a 360-degree turn. In the center is a memorial dedicated to the brave Gorkha soldiers. It offers a panoramic view of Darjeeling town.

​3. Darjeeling Himalayan Railway (Toy Train)

Mirik: The Valley of Peace and Serenity

Mirik is a picturesque hill station situated at an altitude of 4,905 ft, famous for its climate and natural beauty. For tourists, it is the perfect spot for a relaxing day trip.

  • Sumendu Lake: The heart of Mirik. Tourists can enjoy boating in the serene lake or take a horse ride around the perimeter.
  • ​Indreni Bridge (Rainbow Bridge): A beautiful arch bridge over the lake that connects to a dense forest of tall pine trees, perfect for photography.

Pashupati Market (Indo-Nepal Border)

Located just 15 km from Mirik, Pashupati Nagar is the gateway to Nepal. It is a major attraction for those who love shopping and want a glimpse of life across the border.

  • The Border Experience: Indian tourists can cross the border into Nepal for sightseeing and shopping. Note: You must carry a valid Photo ID (Voter ID or Aadhaar Card) to enter.
  • ​Shopping Paradise: The market is famous for "Foreign Goods" at reasonable prices. Tourists mainly buy:

Lamahata: The Eco-Tourism Park

Lamahata is a roadside paradise known for its towering pine trees and "Sacred Lake."

  • ​The Sacred Lake: A short, misty trek uphill leads to a peaceful lake on the hilltop, considered sacred by the locals.

Tinchuley: The Village of Three Ovens

The name "Tinchuley" comes from the three hilltops that resemble traditional ovens (chulhas). It is a destination for peace and sunrise lovers.

  • Tinchuley Viewpoint: Famous for a 360-degree view of the Himalayan range. On a clear day, you can see the snow peaks and the winding Teesta river simultaneously.
  • ​Gumbadara Viewpoint: A beautiful spot featuring massive rocks and a panoramic view of the mountains.
  • ​Orange Orchards: During winter (November–January), the village is vibrant with orange trees in full fruit.

Takdah: The Heritage Cantonment

Takdah was once a British Cantonment (military area) and still retains its colonial charm with old stone bungalows and misty paths.

Daywise Tour Itinerary

Reach NJP Railway Station / IXB Airport, meet & greet by our office executive and transfer to Darjeeling (Alt: 7100 Fts), fondly called “Queen of the Hills”. It is famous for its tea gardens; the spectacular views of Kangchenjunga and the Darjeeling Himalayan Railway a UNESCO World Heritage Site – On arrival check-in to your pre-booking hotel and freshen up yourself – Evening is free to roam around the market and spend the time on your own – Overnight stay at Darjeeling.

Early morning at around 3:45 a.m. drive to Tiger Hill – Back to hotel within 8:00 a.m. for breakfast and fresh up – There after proceed for Darjeeling half day city tour includes Padmaja Naidu Zoological Park, Himalayan Mountaineering Institute, Ropeway, Tensing Rock, Tea Estate Visit, Natural History Museum, Batasia loop, Ghoom Monastery Japanese Peace Pagoda – Overnight stay at Darjeeling.

Morning  after breakfast drive for Mirik sightseeing – On the way visit Semina view point and Pashupati Fatak (India-Nepal Border) – It’s also a prominent tourist point for foreign goods shopping – Where thousands of tourists visit every day – Then proceeds for Mirik - Average altitude is about 5000 Ft. The climate of Mirik is more gentle and comfortable - But the greatest reason to visit Mirik is its scenic views with the central attraction as the 1.25 K.M. long lovely lakes surrounded by Dhupi trees on it western bank and a vast garden on the eastern bank. Mirik is a tranquil laid back hill station. There are vantage points from where you can get lovely sights of Kanchenjunga snow peaks and of course the area is surrounded by many rolling tea estates on mountain slopes – Evening back to the Darjeeling – Overnight stay at Darjeeling.

Morning after breakfast proceed for Takdah (Altitude 4,000ft.), Tinchuley and Lamahatta visit – Orchid Center is the main attraction of Takdah – Out of the wide range of orchids, you can also see the Himalayan orchids here – Next 3 km drive for Tinchuley – Tinchuley is famous for two things, wonderful views of the snow peaks of Kanchenjunga and orange orchards – There is a new road which has been built from Tinchuley which passes through the Peshoke Tea Gardens – You can enjoy the beauty from Peshoke Garden View Point – There after proceed for Lamahatta – Lamahatta is another place for the lovely views of Kanchenjunga – However one of the key attractions here is the landscaped Roadside Garden – This is a sprawling manicured  garden on the roadside with many flowering plantations, hedges, pathways, seating places, gazebo for prayers or meditation and even a watchtower to take a panoramic view – Evening return back to the Darjeeling – Overnight stay at Darjeeling.

Morning after breakfast check-out from hotel on time & transfer to NJP Railway station / IXB Airport for your onward journey – Tour end.

Booking / Payment Mode

  • Booking to be confirmed only after getting the token amount of INR 5000.00 + GST @ 5% by cash / fund transfer (Non refundable) & remaining full payment will have to pay by cash / fund transfer in advance with GST on or before starting the tour – Otherwise Om travels  reserves the right to cancel the pre-booking service.
  • If we get any booking from Travel Agency / Authority / Management against token amount – That time they have to libel to clear the remaining full payment – Otherwise we will be collect the remain full payment for Guest / Client directly.

Terms & Conditions

  • If by Strikes, Political Closures, War Civil Disturbance, Natural calamity, Landslide, Non-permit, Flight / Train Cancellations, Accident, Breakdown, Weather, Sickness or any other unforeseen calamities car will go by different route, guest will be bare extra money for long route.
  • If Management/Agency/Authority/we are unable to provide the cab service for any Strikes, Political Closures, War, Civil Disturbance, Natural calamity or any unforeseen calamities, that time we will refund only after deducting the expenditure of the travels.
  • If any cab breakdown anywhere during the trip, we provide 2nd cab as soon as possible.
  • The Om Travels reserves the right to forfeit the package amount, in case of any cancellations from client side during the tour.
  • In case the client requiring any changes in the pre-booked service, such changes would be considered as new service. The cost for the new service is payable separately and adjustment with the cost of original service is not admissible. Such extension or alteration of the original service is subject to both HVH and the guests agreeing on the same. In case of any disagreement HVH commitment is limited to the service already booked.
  • The Management/Agency/Authority/we will not undertake liability towards any damage or loss of life or any property of the tourist due to an accident, theft, robbery, any illegal or immoral activity, any penalty by caused of activities against civic rule, natural calamities during the tour.
  • Vehicle for transfers & sightseeing. Vehicle will be available to guest as per itinerary only (Point to Point basis)
  • Our vehicle doesn’t go to bed and narrow road. Driver decision should be final.
  • Additional sightseeing or extra usage of vehicle, other than mentioned in the itinerary, will need extra cost and directly payable on the spot.
  • The guest should always keep cool with the drivers as they are not tourism educated and come from different remote villages.
  • As there is shortage of space for car parking in the entire Sikkim / Darjeeling / Bhutan region – guest will have to wait at the Lobby in time for the vehicle to start their sightseeing / transfers. Once our vehicle will leave the hotel area without picking up the guests & come back at parking stand then guest must have to arrange their own to reach at the parking stand.
  • AC will not work in hill areas or stopped / parked cab.
  • In Sikkim & Darjeeling region the same vehicles will not be providing for the entire tour, it will be changed sector-wise.
  • If any tourist spot do not complete which falls on closing day & if they wants to do the same on next day then they have to pay the extra cost for the vehicle.
  • If hotel / Guesthouse or any other staying location far away from main city, then extra supplement cost for pick up & drop will be applicable.
  • If guests want any changes in their sightseeing schedule they should be informed to our executive previous day before 16:00 hrs, after that no changes are allowed. If the guest inform after 16:00 hrs it will be consider as a cancellation with no refund or guest will pay extra cost for reschedule the sightseeing.
  • Cab subject to availability and should be providing category wise availability not Model / Demand / Choice wise.
  • Rates are valid for Indian nationals only.
  • All dispute will subject to Siliguri jurisdiction only.
